Shifting (back) into Storytelling
Man makes plans, and God laughs.
I'm still undecided concerning the question whether life is decided for us by some predestined fate, or if we can truly make our own luck (though I suspect it's a bit of both).
But I can't help noticing that some activities seem to flow out as if on their own, while other projects get stuck in their place. And then some new idea comes and takes me by surprise, like a gust of wind that pushes me into a new direction, that wasn’t available earlier, due to whatever insecurity I felt at the time. Being too weird. Too awkward. Or not awkward or weird enough. And now I seem to be in a place where I can be open to it, and let it be what it will be (?)
I seem to have a need to share my stories and what I learned through my life experiences, and seem to go into a kind of storytelling mode whatever media I'm working with, so I'm trying to embrace the identity of a storyteller instead of trying to fit myself into the more narrow roles of artist or designer or musician (not that they have to be narrow, just that my mind seems to have associations that make them feel that way for me).
With this introduction, I want share some more information about Mysterious Studies, which is actually an old idea that I'm now testing out in a new format: through video. I shared a bit about this in my Portal post, but wanted to write a dedicated post for only Mysterious Studies, to have the information collected in its own post.
Mysterious Studies
You can now watch my video podcast, Mysterious Studies, a playfully serious research/learning/storytelling project, if you want to witness my attempts to express some of the things I've learned on my mysterious/introspective journeys, shifting from a disillusioned, cynical approach to life (which I still fall back into at times) to a more playful and open one. This podcast is mainly intended for others who are undertaking a similar journey, or for anyone interested in listening to scattered ramblings about reality, consciousness and life.
With this shift into Mysterious Studies, I also decided to close my online store (on www.mysterious.studio) for the foreseeable future to let myself focus on what I seem to be most drawn to: sharing stories, guidance and learning resources, particularly into introspective areas, focused on exploring perspectives and approaches to life.
My original reason for creating Mysterious Studio was actually to have it as a space for sharing "weirder" sides, and explorations into spiritual and mystical realms. Somewhere along the way I lost this direction and the main focus was to sell clothes and prints, which is not wrong per se, but not what I want to focus on as my main activity. I've noticed that I seem to be drawn to storytelling and enjoy experimenting with new forms of expression, such as sound and video, in addition to writing. So here we are! Video podcast it is.
You can watch the Mysterious Studies video podcast on my channel: www.youtube.com/@minnamari or on the website www.mysterious.studio or listen to the audio-only version on any streaming platform of your choice.
I hope to share a new episode every week or every few weeks, at least now in the beginning, but let's keep that a bit open for now...to keep God (or spirit or whatever) from laughing too hard at my silly plans…
